Ursula graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in 1976. She articled to Greg Brodsky in the criminal law department of Walsh Micay and Company, and received her Call to the Bar in 1977. She continued to practice criminal law with Walsh Micay and Company until 1978. She then joined the City of Winnipeg Law Department, and was appointed as City Solicitor/Manager of Legal Services for the City of Winnipeg in 1995. She held that position until 2008 when she became Regional Vice President of the Nature Conservancy of Canada. Ursula resumed her criminal defence practice with Brodsky and Company in 2011.
Ursula has had successful appearances at every level of Court in Manitoba, including the Provincial Court, the Court of Queen’s Bench and the Manitoba Court of Appeal, as well
as in the Nunavut Court of Justice and the Supreme Court of Canada.
