Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our criminal defence team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to counsel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role requires sound judgement, discretion, and the ability to manage competing priorities with precision.

This is a full-time permanent position with regular hours of 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities
– Communicating professionally with clients, lawyers, court staff, and external agencies
– Managing incoming calls and client intake
– Opening and closing client files
– Coordinating disclosure materials and maintaining organized digital and physical files
– Drafting letters and correspondence
– Assisting with the preparation, formatting, and filing of legal documents with the courts
– Processing payments and preparing statements of account
– Performing general administrative duties as required
– Maintaining confidentiality and discretion in all matters
Qualifications
– Legal Administrative Assistant certificate or diploma from a recognized Canadian institution
– Knowledge of basic legal concepts, principles, and terminology
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
– Exceptional organizational and time management skills
– Ability to prioritize competing deadlines
– Mature professional demeanor and ability to work collaboratively
